Branson is well known for honoring war veterans and paying respect to all of our vets who have served in the Armed Forces. The large majority of the shows in Branson dedicate a portion of their show with patriotic tributes, and often take some time to recognize all of the veterans in the audience. Branson is a family oriented tourist destination that recognizes the fact that all of the freedoms that we all enjoy can be directly tributed to the sacrifices that have been made by all of our veterans.
The Veterans Memorial Museum in Branson is one of the most comprehensive and educational war museums in the country. All too often many of us get lost in our everyday lives and may tend to take many of our liberties for granted. The Veterans Memorial museum is a somber reminder of all the blood, tears, and loved ones lost to give us those very same liberties that we enjoy everyday of our lives.
Ten halls of the museum highlighting all of the wars, battles, and military conflicts that America has faced are brilliantly featured in dramatic fashion. Over 2000 artifacts featuring WWI, WW2, Korea, Vietnam, and all of the recent military conflicts up to date. Buy Branson's Veteran Memorial Museum Tickets
The most memorable exhibit is the worlds largest war memorial sculpture. Over 15 tons in weight, this bronze sculpture features 50 life size American soldiers (of each of the 50 states.... the kansas soldier is Bob Dole) storming a beach. It says that each soldier in the sculpture is based on a real life soldier in action. Make sure you bring your camera, because you will be disappointed if you can't capture this breathtaking and emotionally moving sculpture.
Murals, war time artifacts, posters, letters, personal stories, video, and authentic memorabilia really stir up the emotions inside your heart and fills you with pride to be an American. Many people spend hours reminiscing, remembering, and learning about all the battles, wars, campaigns, and conflicts America has encountered. While many leave with a tear in their eye, their hearts are lifted and their pride empowered with rekindled patriotism and respect for our troops.
The names of over 400,000 soldiers who have been killed in combat are displayed on the walls of the museum. This is the only museum that has all the fallen soldiers names listed from every war, conflict, and battle that America has faced. Truly a humbling, moving, and eye opening reminder to see the actual names of nearly a 1/2 of a million soldiers who have died in combat. All of these soldiers had loved ones, families, and friends who loved them dearly.
