The Ripleys Believe It Or Not museum in Branson has to be one of the strangest, and oddest reviews I have done over the years. Bizarre exhibits, mind blowing world records, off the wall collections, unique artifacts, optical illusions, and even a hologram bringing back the ghost of Robert Ripley! Family members of all generations will love Ripleys believe it or not museum. Laughs, bewilderment, and jaw dropping "awe" are just a few of the emotions you will experience at Ripley's.
As I sit here at my computer to write out this review several exhibits instantly came to the surface of my mind. The first had to be standing next to the wax figure replica of the worlds tallest man. I had seen pictures of him in a guinness book of world records book, but until you stand next to him you can't really put it in perspective. The man was two feet taller than Shaquille O'Neal!
Over 400 exhibits are on display at The Ripleys Believe It Or Not Museum. By far the largest exhibit has to be the worlds "largest ball of yarn". I wouldn't suggest attempting to break this unusual record, unless you have an unoccupied barn available and maybe a crane to move it around!
Shrunken heads, unusual customs, and fun interactive displays keep you enthralled throughout the self guided tour. Even the "cracked" architecture of the building will keep you standing outside the building with your head tilted to the side before you even walk in! Did you know that Missouri has the record for the largest earthquake in the United States? I think most would think that it would be California, but thats not the case. The Mississippi river ran backwards for three whole days!
Ripley's Believe It Or Not museum is located midway down the highway 76 main strip that runs through the heart of Branson. If you are coming with a family that has varied interests and tastes, Ripley's has something for them all. It really keeps your interest all throughout the museum.
Upon closing my review of one of Ripley's Believe It Or Not museum, I'd like to give you one helpful hint (I don't want to spoil anything for you). Be careful when you are looking in the mirrors at the beginning of the tour. You might be embarrassed later!! You'll have to go to the "show" to see what I mean! To use this link, paste this HTML code into your web page. Order Ripley's Believe It Or Not Museum Tickets
Ripley's museum is one of the few attractions in Branson that is open year round. The majority of the other Branson shows close from mid Decemember thru March. Elvis Alive in Branson
Elvis is alive and well in Branson. He has been performing at the Legends Theater since the year 2000. Elvis is still on top of his game as he was won the following awards in Branson.
- Branson Entertainer of the Year Award in 2003
- Best Performer in 2004 and 2005!
- Best Singer 2006
- Best Performer 2006
- Best Branson Show 2006
Kidding aside, Branson Missouri is the home of one of America's top Elvis impersonators. Tony Roi has been blowing away Elvis fans for years performing one of the most unbelievable Elvis tributes you will ever see. Tony Roi has the hip moves, the vocals, the gestures, and yes even the fainting ladies! A few times during the show you have to remind yourself that your not actually watching Elvis Presley live on stage.
Just in case you may think that Tony Roi may just be one of a 1000 different Elvis impersonators seen throughout the country just check out some of his credits.
- Broadway debut: “Legends in Concert on Broadway”.
- Regis and Kathy Lee Show
- Appeared and Performed on "All My Children"
- Performed on The David Letterman Show 3 Times
There are very few Elvis Presley impersonators that are anything more than a novelty act. Tony Roi is one of the best. For those that were fortunate enough to actually see Elvis live in concert, they would tell you that impersonating one of his shows would be impossible. While that may be true, there is nothing wrong with the next best thing. There is only one Elvis, and will never be another. Tony Roi pays tribute to the King of Rock N Roll like no other.
To sum up my review for the Elvis Presley Tribute show in Branson I would say : If your a fan of the "King", and would like to relive a legendary event, this is the closest that you will get to seeing an actual Elvis concert performance live on stage. You can watch all of your DVD concert videos, but actually attending a show sitting next to other passionate Elvis fans, and singing along to all of his priceless classics is another experience altogether.
Tony Roi at the Branson Music City Centre Theater will be performing his "Elvis Experience" show 6 nights a week all season long. Be sure to reserve your tickets as soon as possible. VIP ticket packages are available. Make sure your Branson vacation is a memorable one! Order your Branson Show Tickets - Elvis Tribute Show Discount Packages

Destinations, Lodgings, and Music Shows

Branson, Missouri is amongst the top vacation destinations in the United States. Each year Branson draws approximately 8 million visitors! Why do millions of people flock to a small town in Southwest Missouri that only has a population of 7,450 residents? 7,450? How can such a small community entertain millions of people year in and year out? Well, let me tell you just a few of the reasons why.
Branson's small community of 7,450 has 444 restaurants (37, 048 seating capacity. 207 lodging facilities, 13 golf courses, 52 theaters (boasting more theater seats than Broadway in New York City!). Show Tickets, Hotel Lodgings, and Branson Destinations
Branson's shopping scene is one of a kind tourist destination. There is over 200 retailers in three outlet malls bringing shoppers reduced prices on name brand items. Branson's newest landmark is called the Branson Landing. The Landing is a massive 420 million dollar project that has transformed Downtown Branson and has brought riverfront shopping, nightlife entertainment, a convention center, and a 12 story luxury Hilton hotel. The Landing is a must see destination on your vacation to Branson.
Branson is also surrounded by 3 lakes (Table Rock, Taneycomo, and Bull Shoals). Beaches, jet skis, fishing tournaments, parasailing, camping, and swimming keeps families entertained all throughout the spring, summer, and fall.
Branson originally became famous for its country music shows. Well, that much hasn't changed. Whatever your taste in country music is, there is a theater here for you. Much of the classic country music from years past still thrives in Branson. Mickey Gilley, Mo Bandy, The Oak Ridge Boys, The Lennon Sisters, The Osmonds, The Gatlin Brothers, and many more still faithfully entertain the tourists.
The Christmas shows in Branson attract visitors well into December. Andy Williams still brings Christmas to Branson, and the whole town is lit up beautifully. Many of the shows are during the Christmas season are Christian based, and patriotic in theme. Buy Branson Show Tickets Online in Real Time!
There are also many shows for the kids. The Shanghai Circus bring you over 40 acrobats from China. They entertain families of all ages and are truly amazing. Trained pet shows, magic shows, amusement parks, putt putt courses, go-karts, and water parks can be found all throughout Branson to keep the kids well occupied. I will be writing reviews on a near daily basis of each and every one of these vacation destinations.

Darren Romeo the Voice of Magic

Darren Romeo is back in Branson performing at the Lawrence Welk Theater. The Welk theater has a capacity of over 1,500 people. This exquisite theater is located on highway 165 in Branson. Its far enough away from the main strip to avoid much of the traffic congestion, yet close enough to be within a few miles of all the action. Darren Romeo Tickets, Hotel Lodging, and Vacation Discount Packages
Not only is Darren Romeo an extraordinary magician, he is a highly talented musical performer as well. His act brings a touch of "broadway" and mixes it with jaw drapping magic. This is one of those magic shows that can keep a family from several generations focused, and entertained from beginning to end. Darren Romeo can connect with you on a personal level, then perform a magical illusion that will make you wonder if he is even human.
The leading lady (Kristy Michelson) has been performing with Darren for over a decade. She is always in top form, and is as gorgeous as ever. The dancing, and choreography is professional in every sense of the word.
Darren Romeo is a very family friendly magician, and tries to make himself available after all of his shows out in the lobby so you can chat with him personally and get your picture take with him.
Another nice amenity that the Welk Theater offers is that they also have a 4 story hotel next door, as well as the "Stage Door" restaurant. Swimming pools, outdooor barbecues, jungle gym equipment, hot tubs, and putt putt fun for the entire family. Vacation discount packages are available.
The hotel has a bellman on call every day to assist with service calls to your room, luggage assistance, and any other need of assistance may arrive.
If you plan to be in Branson for several days, I'd highly recommend staying at the Welk hotel. Darren Romeo's magic show competitively compares to any that you will see. This young magician has performed in Las Vegas, Reno, and Biloxi Mississippi, as well as various other stops all around the world. Romeo has even shared the stage with the infamous Siegfried and Roy.

Mickey Gilley Theater and Show Reviews

Mickey Gilley has been a mainstay in Branson, performing here for 17 years now! Be prepared for one hit after another all throughout the show. Mickey Gilley has 39 hits in the country music industry. Mickey Gilley has dazzled Branson audiences for almost two decades and he is showing no sign of slowing down. Order Mickey Gilley Branson Show Tickets Online in Real Time!
Great country music isn't the only thing you will find at a Mickey Gilley show. Joey Riley is a world class comedian that will intermittently keep you howling with laughter all throughout the show. Not only is Joey Riley able to keep you laughing, he can also pick up a fiddle and keep your toes tappin to "Orange Blossom Special". I thought it was a great mix of great country hits along with knee slapping family comedy!
Branson vacations are a treat for the whole family, but you have to be an informed tourist to maximize your vacation. If you merely jump into the car without proper direction Branson can be a frustrating place to be at times. Traffic congestion can irritate you, confusing new highway routes can make your head spin, and some entertainers are seemingly changing theaters every year. Be sure to sign up to our email newsletter to keep you up to date on the latest attractions and destinations all throughout the Branson season.
Mickey Gilley has stood beside many of the greatest stars of all time. He has sang with Jerry Lee Lewis, Willie Nelson, Charlie Daniels, Merle Haggard, and dozens more. From 1977 - 1989 Gilley's nightclub was the most famous country nightclub in the world. The hit movie, "Urban Cowboy" starring John Travolta and Debra Winger was filmed at Gilley's. It was actually credited as being the world's largest nightclub the the Guinness Book of World Records.
Country entertainers have come and gone in Branson over the years, but Mickey Gilley has his roots firmly planted in the country music capital of the world. If you are a traditional country music enthusiast, Mickey Gilley's theater is the home of country music in its purest form.
Mickey Gilley's theater is located on the main Branson strip (highway 76). Gilley's restaurant is adjacently located next door and offers a full Texas style menu that is sure to please. 25 ounce draw beers, frozen margarita'a, and Texas sized burgers. Country style atmosphere, great music, and decades of nostalgic decor.
Please leave your Mickey Gilley's review, or check out our Branson entertainment forums.

The Titanic - Branson Tourism Museum

Towering 100 feet above the 76 strip in Branson, the Titanic historical museum holds over 400 actual artifacts from the original titanic. The two story museum is even anchored in water to add to the ambiance.
The Titanic museum consists of a 90 minute tour. At the beginning of the tour you are handed a boarding pass of an original Titanic passenger. At the end of the tour you will find out whether the passenger survived or not. Branson Vacation Packages - The Titanic Museum
You encounter many family interactive galleries along the way. Just try dipping your hands in the ice cold water they have on display for more than a few seconds. You even get to touch a regenerating ice berg.
You will be able to read actual letters written by or to the passengers. When you view their photos they no longer seem to be a statistic, and it really helps bring the tragic story to life.
The Titanic features detailed rooms of the actual ship. Dining rooms, life size bunking quarters, the Marconi wireless station, actual size propellers, and so much more.
Tourism in Branson has added new genres every year for the tourists. The Titanic museum in Branson is the largest museum of its kind in the world. All artifacts were recovered from the ship or found floating at the wreck site at the time of the sinking.
I wasn't sure what to expect going in to the museum, but it really helped put the infamous ship into perspective. At times its almost chilling when you see the hand written letters, and the personal photographs. It was highly educational and I recommend taking the entire family.
Please leave your reviews for others who may be pondering their activities when coming to Branson for vacation. Also, be sure to sign up to the email list to recieve Branson show reviews, hotel recommendations, night life, fishing, and camping destinations. Branson has a lot to offer, but you need to be informed or you'll be sure to miss out on some great destinations that might otherwise go unnoticed.

Yakov Smirnoff Show Reviews and Ticket Information

Yakov Smirnoff, the famous Russian comedian, has been performing live in Branson since 1992. Laughs, witty jokes, and funny tales are what its all about as Yakov (Branson's two time comedian of the year) takes the stage. Yakov's humor is a refreshing, patriotic, emotionally uplifting, clever at times, and downright silly at others.
Yakov firmly believes that laughter truly is the best medicine. He teaches you through humor that sometimes you have to look within yourself for happiness. You will leave Yakov Schmirnoff's Branson show with a different outlook on life than when you entered. Its an experience that you won't soon forget and its highly likely that you will be recommending this show to your family and friends.
Amazing Russian dancers will dazzle your visual senses as they leap and twirl across the stage. Heartfelt moments may bring a tear to your eye, and you will leave the show with a refreshed sense for "love of country and family".
Yakov Schmirnoff travels to select venues across the country but the large majority of the time he is performing in his own 1,800 seat theater in Branson. Tickets can be purchased online, by phone, or directly at the theater. It is advisable to order early however, because his show is often sold out during year. Children under 12 are FREE, adults cost 32 dollars. You can order "Elite" seating for just and extra three dollars and have a seat in rows 1-7.
For a man who came to this country with only 100 dollars in his pocket, his accomplishments are incredible. He has performed in movies such as "Moscow on the Hudson", "Brewster's Millions", "The Money Pit", and "Heartburn. Yakov has also performed on broadway, the library of conrgess during President Bush's inauguration, and countless television shows throughout the years. Schmirnoff has also released 5 DVD's full of his comedic talents.

Silver Dollar City Theme Park in Branson
Since I moved to Branson, Missouri in 1992 Silver Dollar City was one of the cities prized vacation attractions and travel destinations. The sentiment remains the same today and has certainly not lost any of its "1880's" luster. Silver Dollar City is actually one of the most popular vacation destinations in the country.
If it has been a few years since you may have last been to SDC, you may want to make a return visit. The size of the park expands every year adding new roller coaster rides, craft shops, and entertainment attractions. There are now over 60 craft shops, world class pioneer craftsman demonstrating their skills, and over 40 live entertainment shows daily.
The aromas of food fill the air as you walk through this beautifully shaded theme park. The trees help keep you cool even during the dog days of summer. Festivals feature food from around the world, along with country and western cuisines sizzling on large iron skillets lining the hilly paths leading you through Silver Dollar City. Ice cold beverages, snow cones, and hot drinks can be found thoughout SDC to keep you happy and content throughout your visit. The food at SDC is top notch compared to what you will usually find at amusement and theme parks throughout the country.
The largest international World Fest is held at Silver Dollar City in Branson, Missouri. The World Fest is a celebration of cultures throughout the world. Music is the international language, and this is the one festival that unites them all together. Performers from across the oceans and on the other side of the globe share their customs, traditions, dance, and goodwill for all of us to enjoy. Silver Dollar City Vacation Packages
Silver Dollar City is one of the more picturesque theme parks in the world. Mere words are just unable to explain SDC's 1880's western theme, and the beauty that only the Ozarks can bring. The amusement park rides will thrill the kids (as well as adults), yet don't take away the "feel" of the 1880's country theme. Please view the video below and be amazed at the beauty, cleanliness, and joy that this one of a kind theme park provides.
The shows at Silver Dollar City are unique, fun, talented, and best of all they are included FREE with your admission ticket. The shows include the genres of country, folk, blue grass, comedy, music from the 70's, 80's, and 90's. There is something for everyone in the family. I will post reviews and descriptions to all of the shows that I have seen personally at Silver Dollar City over the years in future articles. Be sure to sign up to the newsletter feed at the top right corner of the page to receive reviews, recommendations, Branson's "secret vacation tips" and more. You will NOT be spammed with advertisements of any kind when you subscribe to the feed.
Silver Dollar City's winding paved pathways are hilly and can pose problems for those with walking limitations. Wheel chairs, and strollers are available for rent to provide assistance. You will get your exercise at SDC. This fact is a certainty! The good thing is, you don't have to feel guilty about eating all of the mouth watering food available all throughout the park. The food prices are quite affordable for what you get. Delicious!
The shopping is a one of a kind experience. Their craft shops preserve the arts and craftsmanship of a past era. Artists can be found throughout the theme park utilizing their tools and techniques of those used in the 1800's. Glass blowing, candle making, leather shops, blacksmith demonstrations, and many more interesting craft shops.
Silver Dollar City is one of the countries top travel destinations and I highly recommend adding SDC to your venue while enjoying your Branson vacation.
Ticket prices for a "day pass" is 48 dollars for adults, and 38 dollars for children 12 and under. If you plan on going to Silver Dollar City more than once on your vacation it is highly advisable to get a season pass. A season pass only costs a few extra dollars (65 dollars for adults - 55 dollars for children) and you can visit Silver Dollar City an UNLIMITED number of times. Also ticket packages are available so you can can enjoy unlimited number of visits to Silver Dollar City, White Water, and Celebration City. The rides and music shows are free and are included in the price of admission.
Please leave your comments and reviews about Silver Dollar City before leaving! Also consider signing up to the email feed so you can be aware of all the latest happenings at SDC and the rest of Branson's entertainment attractions. Subscribe to Branson Travel Attractions by Email No advertisement spam will be sent to your email after you subscribe. The Duttons Family Theater in Branson
Perhaps you may have seen this one of a kind supercharged family perform on the hit television show "America's Got Talent". They were a hit with America and finished in the top 10, and they are a hit in Branson as well!
The Duttons amaze you with their musical astonishments. Each Dutton plays atleast SIX instruments throughout the show. Their wide array of musical genres keep the entire family entertained from start to finish. Not only do they amaze you with their musical talents they will keep you laughing with their heart-warming comedy as well.
As I sat and watched The Duttons perform live onstage I was simply awed. How can everybody in such a large family be so musically gifted? It doesn't seem possible, but they never fail to deliver.
The Duttons theater is located right on the "76 strip". What is really nice is that they have a hotel and restaurant located next door to the theater so if the Duttons are one of the shows on your venue it brings a little bit more convenience and sensibility to your vacation. You will be center of the action! Music shows, putt putt golf courses, go carts, a water park, restaurants and more all within walking distance of the hotel / theater.
If you enjoy talented families, I confidently recommend The Duttons. One of the better music shows in Branson. Lots of fun, energy, harmonies, and jaw dropping instrumental performances. Please come back and leave your reviews for future visitors.

Red Skelton Tribute
Red Skelton comedy the way it used to be. You will swear that you are actually watching the legendary Red Skelton live on stage. All of his famous characters are back for our pleasure. Laugh hysterically to the zany characters of Heathcliff & Gertrude, Clem Kadiddlehopper, The Mean Widdle Kid, Freddy the Freeloader, and so many more. Red Skelton is performed by Tom Mullica, who was actually a close friend of Red.
Its such a pleasant thought to realize that you can take 4 generations of your family to a comedy show without the worry of unneeded vulgarity or off color humor. Theater critics awarded this show as one of the best tributes ever. 417 magazine says that this show is one of the top 5 shows in Branson to see.
Red Skelton proved that you can entertain an entire family in a hilarious, yet moral way. No profanity, sexual innuendos, or demeaning antics to catch a laugh. You will leave this show with a feeling of nostalgic appreciation of years gone by.
The Red Skelton comedy tribute show is located at the Mansion America Theater, His show will be in Branson from April 6th - December 8th six days a week with the exception of Sundays.
I have seen this show several times, and I do recommend this show even if your vacation schedule only allows time for a few shows. Please come back and leave your reviews for future visitors so their Branson vacation can be as fullfulling as I'm sure yours will be. God bless. Branson Landing - Waterfront Shopping
Before I begin reviewing any of the music shows, restaurants, or Branson nightlife destinations I feel obligated to talk about one of Branson's newest attractions. The Branson Landing has brought a whole new reason to come and visit Branson. The Landing is the new home of over 100 new specialty stores, restaurants, and entertainment delights. I don't think there is a better way to start this off than a video clip of the Waterfront Fountain located on Lake Taneycomo in the the center of the Branson Landing.
To view the water show you should make your way to the center of the Landing approximately 20 minutes after sunset. Although the fountain displays are entertaining throughout the day, the breathtaking show takes place just shortly after nightfall.
Each evening the fountain show explodes, dances, and amazes the crowd to different songs. Kids are can be seen in droves laughing, dancing, and running along the waterfront. There is plenty of outdoor seating, accompanied by restaurants located on both sides of the center pavillion so you can have a beautiful dining experience and watch the show at the same time. Great entertainment for the entire family.
The entire Branson landing is set on flat ground so walking though the shops is pleasant and forgiving on the feet. There is no hilly terrain to speak of. Two large parking lots are located on each end of the Landing. (Belk department store at one end, and Bass Pro Shops at the other end. Parking is FREE at these locations. There is also a large parking garage located in the center of the Landing. The parking garage is relatively cheap, ranging in prices of 2-5 dollars depending on the amount of time spent playing along the waterfront. Very affordable if I must say!
For the walking impaired the Landing is ideal. Wheel chairs can be rented in several locations, and there is also a trolley that runs through the center of Landing providing transportation at no cost.
Like I mentioned before there are over 100 shops located at the Landing! These are top of the line stores that we are all familiar with. The stores include; Bass Pro, Belk, The Children's Shop, Ann Taylor Loft, Hollister, Bed and Bath, Pacific Sunwear, Lane Bryant, and a slew of others. In future posts I will list all of the shops, restaurants, and entertainment night spots that the Landing has to offer. Some of the standout restaurants include; Famous Daves, Joes Crab Shack, Ernie Biggs dueling piano bar and grille, Waxy O'Shea's, and Bar Louie's to name a few.

Branson Missouri - Family Vacation Destination
Branson, Missouri is surprisingly ranked #3 in travel destinations in the United States. This may surprise many people who aren't familiar with a relatively small town nestled in the Ozarks of Southwest Missouri.
Surrounded by rolling hills, beautiful trees, Table Rock Lake, and family oriented attractions, its easy to see why Branson is one of the few travel destinations you can truly take your entire family without hesitation. Book Your Branson Hotel, Flight, and Car Rentals
I have lived in Branson, Missouri since 1992 so I can honestly say that I have seen this city grow three times in size, and I am informed about everything that this wonderful town has to offer. I have worked at a "Tourist Information Center" in Branson for 8 years. The main part of my job is to be knowledgeable about all of the shows, the attractions, the shopping, fishing, camping, and sightseeing opportunities to pass on to tourists arriving into town.
Branson is well known for their family oriented music shows. I can honestly say that I have seen 90% of the shows. Being knowledgeable of all the shows is an important part of my job. I can't lend any helpful information to vacationers if I don't see the shows first hand. One of the perks at my job is that I get the opportunity to see all of the shows for free. It is beneficial for the theaters to "comp" me free tickets so I can forward information about their shows to potential customers at the information booths. I get a rather paltry hourly wage, but I get small bonuses when I sell tickets to the shows, so it is lucrative for me to go out and see every show possible in Branson. Besides, I love it! Branson has some of the best musicians in the world. Country, jazz, big band, 70's rock, magic shows, Irish dancers, and much more.
I am going to give reviews of each and every show that I have seen in Branson. I'll let you in on all the secrets that I am aware of. Ways to get around the traffic, some of the lesser known attractions, and all the shows that will leave you speechless.
Please feel free to post your own opinions and comments on all the Branson shows that you have been able to witness. Everybody that subscribes to this site will be very thankful for your opinion. Lets face it, everybody has different tastes and my particular recommendations may not reflect your own tastes. Yet, I will do my best to give you an all around inside scoop of the Branson attractions and hopefully I will be able to enhance your Branson vacation and make it a memorable one!
