White Water - Branson's Outdoor Water Park

White Water, Branson's only outdoor waterpark provides a wonderful way to escape the summertime heat, with spectacular water rides, wave pools, and slides. White Water has the largest selection of water attractions in the Ozarks.

I have been taking my 12 year old daughter to White Water for the past 7 or 8 years, and we have created many memories that we will carry on with us forever. Its a wonderful bonding experience for families of all ages.

As wonderful as I view the White Water outdoor park, there are a few drawbacks that I should mention. During the busy summertime months, the park does get crowded and the lines to go down the slides can seem to last a lengthy amount of time. They have added another HUGE slide called the Kalani Towers which hopes to alleviate some of the congestion problems. Early or late in the day would be the best times to enjoy all that White Water has to offer.

If you are lightly complected, be sure to bring plenty of lotion, because the park doesn't provide a lot of shade.

If you want to take a break from all the Branson music shows, and would like to spend an afternoon outdoors in the Ozarks, then White Water is an excellent option. Whether you would like to just relax and lay by one of the pools, or race down some of the gigantic waterslides, White Water is the place for you!

In 2008, the Lawrence Welk Theater presents the newest show in Branson. Reviews have been off the charts, and the Rankin Brothers are already creating a buzz around town. The Rankin Brothers, sing all genres of the 50's, 60's, 70's, up to current day music. Rock, pop, classic country, jazz, the blues, and more to keep families of all ages thoroughly entertained.

Comedy Jamboree Show

When you come to Branson and see a music show, the chances are you will get a few comedy acts in between the music sets that will surely get the audience laughing. If comedy is what you are looking for, then those shows might not provide enough of the type of entertainment that you are looking for.

At the Comedy Jamboree it is non stop family oriented comedy that will keep you jumping out of your seats with laughter, with musical acts assisting the comedy sketches the entire way. Talented singers, musicians, and dancers keep you entertained with gospel, rock, country, and pop. The comedy extravaganza is headlined by Branson's Jamie Haage, who has been the proud award winner of Branson's comedian of the year.

Before I go ahead and give the comedy jamboree my two thumbs up review, I first must give a warning or should I say "a word to the wise". If audience participation is one of your "phobias" or social anxiety nightmares, then the Comedy Jamboree may not be the show for you! I must admit, I started getting rather nervous that I would be one of audience members that would be singled out. Luckily, I was spared and was thoroughly entertained at the expense of the other "victims"!

The Comedy Jamboree is wonderful entertainment and provides an ample amount of the world's greatest medicine, which is laughter. The music is top notch, with a little bit for everybody's tastes. The Comedy Jamboree Show is located at the Grand Country about midway down highway 76, which is the main drag that goes through the heart of Branson. Order Comedy Jamboree Tickets In Branson

Branson Zoo, Aquarium, and Predator World

Nearly everybody distinctly remembers their first time going to the zoo. The excitement of seeing exotic, unique, and sometimes dangerous animals up close is a thrill that youngsters carry with them all throughout their life. Eventually they will bring their own children to catch a glimpse of animals that they have only seen in books.

The Branson Zoo
has a brand new, and very unique climate controled 11 acre indoor / outdoor facility unlike any other zoos in the area. Guests have the privilege of self guiding themselves through a winding (maze-like)indoor and outdoor constantly changing animal kingdom. In fact the Branson Zoo and Aquarium offers one of the most diverse collections in the United States.

Due to the fact that the Branson Zoo is constantly changing, each visit provides a brand new experience. New animals have been arriving each month keeping the highly trained staff working hard to meet the challenge.

The staff is constantly rotating throughout their shift interacting, playing, and caring for the animals. Each animal gets daily one on one attention. I am an animal lover and I observed this very closely because the thought of an animal being neglected breaks my heart. You often see the zookeepers even taking a "cat" nap using a mountain lions body as their pillow.

Another amusing thing I noticed is the friendship that has grown between a full grown bear and a tiger (not sure what kind). You seem them playfully wrestling, chasing each other, and taking naps together. I found this to be very unusual, but they seem to be very happy with their "untraditional" relationship.

The kids will love the thrill of feeding the sting rays, and sharks. (The kind of sharks without teeth!). Even though you are fully aware that you won't be hurt, I dare you to feed them without your hand jumping back a few times. I tried and failed numerous times. New to the Branson Zoo is a petting zoo for the children with much more than the usual goats and bunny rabbits to enjoy.

Going through the predator world section is kind of spooky if your not too fond of snakes, crocodiles, and very strange looking lizards. Handlers are out so you can actually pet some awfully large snakes, and baby alligators. I quickly passed on those exhibits!

For the really courageous guests they have the opportunity to experience a hands-on curator guided tour. Reservation only, and you must sign a waiver. You will have the opportunity to feed and interactive with live sharks. (Yes the ones with teeth). I must admit that I passed on this experience as well. From what I have discovered upon research however is that this is a one of a kind tour, only at the Branson Zoo and Aquarium.

The Branson Zoo (also known as Predator World) and Aquarium is located off of highway 13 in Branson West, Missouri. You follow highway 76 (the main strip)in Branson all the way to Branson West (past Silver Dollar City), and then turn left on highway 13. A few miles down H. 13 and you'll see the signs. Very easy to find.

Bears, Bengal tigers, Hyenas, Snakes, exotic birds, poisonous reptiles, Tarantulas, Sharks, and the list goes on and on. I recommend that you check it out. One more thing, as you leave the Branson Zoo you will be right next door to one of the highest rated haunted houses in the United States. It put a scare into me and I'm 35 years old! Open year round! The haunted house review will come in the future. Be sure to sign up to the RSS feed, or the email subscription to hear all about it! Horse Trail Rides - Bear Creek

Branson shows, amusement parks, and shopping can keep tourists busy around the clock. Sometimes its nice to take a step back from the hustle and bustle, take a deep breath, and enjoy the beautiful Ozarks scenery! The Bear Creek Trail Rides provide the perfect outlet for all the nature lovers out there.

Located just 6 minutes north of Branson on highway 65 is the perfect interlude to a fast paced vacation where you are trying to fight the traffic, get to the shows on time, or make your dinner reservations.

Bear Creek Trail Rides is family oriented and the horses are very gentle. I took my daughter there when she was 8 years old and she just had the time of her life and she still looks forward to riding their horses each year. (She's 12 now).

You have the choice of a one or two hour trail ride, and you get to pick your own horse. They have many highly trained horses to choose from.

The horse trail ride winds through the spectacular Ozark mountain country. Be sure to bring your camera as you are twisting through the shaded trails overlooking bluffs, crossing creeks, and occasionally spotting all forms of wildlife.

Riding a horse through the Ozarks picturesque forest is a very calming and soothing experience and I wholeheartedly endorse the Bear Creek trail rides. Perfect for families and small groups. Believe me when I say, that children will never forget the experience. Maybe I will see you on the Bear Creek horse trails.

There is also a Bear Creek bed and breakfast nearby for those that would like to be near Branson, but would enjoy the solitude, nature, and peacefulness that the Bear Creek Lodge provides.
